North Carolina (July 11, 2008) – Summer has arrived in western North Carolina and with it Ambrose Art Studio and Gallery, the new summer work and exhibit space for internationally recognized landscape painter Daniel Ambrose. A master in egg tempera painting, an ancient medium dating back to the 14th century, Ambrose makes his own paint from a 15th century recipe using pigments from the earth mixed with egg yolk.Ambrose’s luminous egg tempera paintings have been exhibited in hundreds of shows winning numerous awards, and are included in museums, corporate and public art collections nationwide. “I have been drawn to this part of North Carolina for many years, and am intrigued and inspired by the drama of the skies over the mountains and the rural landscapes,” says Ambrose. “This studio will allow me to immerse myself in the landscapes I love to paint – the colors and textures are perfect for egg tempera.” Ambrose divides his residence between Spruce Pine, North Carolina and Ormond Beach, Florida.

Art Gallery is located at 571 Micaville Loop and is open now through the end of December, Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment.

Daniel works on location painting small studies which he later uses in his studio for his larger works. In addition to images from his native Florida, he will also exhibit his recent egg tempera paintings inspired by the Mitchell and Yancy county landscapes.
