This preliminary 9 x 12 oil study is for a very special commission I am working on. The setting has a meaningful connection for the collector and me. Sometimes I am asked where my ideas come from. Like tributaries feed a river, inspiration comes from many places. Sometimes they come from you.
It's all about the light.I paint small plein air oil paintings for ideas. They often become the inspiration for my egg tempera or oil studio paintings.
